Men’s Issues
We offer counseling to address struggles most commonly manifesting in men. Below are some, but not all, issues we work with:
Life Stage Transitions are often marked by increased stressors that come with growing work responsibilities; marriage and child-rearing; care for aging parents; home-buying or home ownership; and/or financial stress—among other challenges.
Anger in men can manifest across a broad spectrum, from aggressive outbursts or brief fits of rage to smoldering or passive-aggressive behaviors.
Male anxiety often presents in the form of social anxiety, low self-esteem and/or feeling a of loss of agency in the world.
Depression in men often stems from problems like a lack of emotional awareness, poor communication skills, outdated gender expectations, or general life changes.
Childhood trauma & PTSD can have a disproportionate effect on men who are statistically less likely to seek help. Issues can range from “capital T” trauma (i.e. physical or emotional abuse) to “small t” trauma (i.e. being the child of an emotionally immature parent).
Relationship issues are unique to everyone, yet men are prone to specific patterns of behaviors in relationships, such as commitment issues, patterns of failed relationships, and/or difficulties displaying intimacy.
Fatherhood presents immense challenges, not only with the increased burden of responsibility, but within the context of our own childhood experiences and parental relationships.
If you’re experiencing any of the above, or something similar, feel free to call or message us for more information.
